Transit Young New England Album Review

Transit are an Alt- rock band hailing from Boston, Massachusetts. Having established in 2006, the band  have shared the stage with the likes of Taking Back Sunday, Bayside, Senses Fail, Four Year Strong and The Wonder Years.

Young New England, due out on the 2nd of April, is the bands 2nd full length release with Rise Records – making this their 4th album in total. This album is set to  showcase a different side to the band, as well as take the quintet forward even further with it’s captivating punk rock melodies. Lead singer Joe Boynton states how,

“We’re all very proud of Young New England because we feel that it paints a clear picture of who we are, and where we’re from.”

Guitarist Tim Landers adds,

“This album is different. We’re always progressing and growing.”

For those previously acquainted with the band; This ‘difference’ is something that’s as clear as day from the word go. Gone are the boys from Listen and Forgive, in their place are the story tellers from Boston. This isn’t to say their sound has completely changed: They’ve retained that unique tone and humble disposition that always finds its way into their music. Young New England is definitely no exception to this.

The full length itself provides a song for every occasion. Hazy and Hang It Up for those nostalgic days where you’re looking for a melody to keep you company. Thanks For Nothing to carry you through those helpless days, and their leading track Nothing Lasts Forever for a more guitar feel.Don’t be fooled by the doom and gloom titles, the tracks themselves are anything but. The band manage to present the final product in a way that will leave you chanting along for days to come. It’s almost a crime just how catchy and extremely heartfelt Young New England is!
